am i brave enough for this?
i was planning to only send these pictures to a few of my nearest and dearest family and friends. mostly because i still am not comfortable with the short hair. but. then i decided...whatever...this is all a learning experience...i've put myself totally out there already...might as well continue to...
so. here are two pictures. one sans wig - 11 weeks post chemo...4 weeks of hair growth... can you make out the mohawk?
and one with the new wig. unlike the long blond one, it's a full wig... but still, without a hat, makes me feel newscastery.
You are stupendously gorgeous with the short hair. It looks like you meant to do it.(Take a page from our late cat "Mary" who had that angle down pat).
If anyone asks, tell them you cut your hair in honor of a dear friend who went through chemo (you don't have to say who) and you can hold your beautiful head up high knowing you truly look hip, sleek and sophisticated.
I can't stress enough how great it looks. The epitome of the bold and the beautiful!
Behold the you who has come through this and know that you have everything you need (and could ever want) to shepherd you through to a new and hip place to live, good health (now), great education and experience to land a happenin' job and a fantastic set of friends and family (if I do say so myself :->).
The hard part now will be getting used to being a survivor rather than a victim! What a cool thing to have to struggle to be!
I'm with Julie and Linda...off with the wig. I think Julie's suggestion to say it's in honor of a friend is a great way to put your toe in the water. I can't really see the mohawk part, but seem to see the lovely strawberry part from y'ore. You look GOOOD...and READY! Love, Susan
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Seriously man. I just looked at the photos again. Ditch the wig. You're gorgeous and it makes sense.
