well, it's been beautiful every day since i got here. mid 60s and sunny.
i've taken kitty to the beach twice - which was so adorable it killed me. we've walked in golden gate park. we've explored our neighborhood.
i saw garrison kiellor in my own public library...and i heard him tell someone he loved my neighborhood.
i'm still waiting to hear from my dream job. i had my second interview on friday. went well. they told me they would make a decision by monday and call people monday afternoon. when i didn't receive a call, i was bummed. and then had a dream about it. the director called me in to meet with everyone but wouldn't tell me if i got the job or not. i had to read it in a letter first. the letter said the position no longer fit in with the organization but somehow i convinced her to hire me anyway. then, in real life, i got an email saying the program director was out sick so they wouldn't be able to make a decision until the end of the week. the waiting is hard. but at least it's still a possibility.
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Hi!
So glad to hear things are going well in San Francisco. I truly hope you get your dream job. I wish you health and love and normalcy!! Your experience was hell to go through, I'm sure. I'm also sure that somehow you'll take that experience and use it to help others. You've already been helping me by reminding me to do my breast exams every month! Reach for the stars, Megan.
Love, Janet
Good morning, Meghan. The sun is beautiful over Cape Cod Bay and I'm hoping it's the same over San Francisco Bay! I'm going to have my mammogram this morning and I'll be thinking of you and smiling, knowing you're so well on your way to your 'new' life as a survivor. You're amazing!
Hey there..Your neigborhood looks great to me, too (Garrison and I have always had similar taste)
Good that you got the email from the job site..don't be afraid to call them if you don't hear on Friday. It doesn't look desperate; instead it looks complimentary to them. We're rooting.
Love,
Susan
Meghan, I agree with dear Snoodles (oops, Susan) about not hesitating to call the job site to confirm your interest and enthusiasm, letting them know you understand about life happening and deadlines changing and you're looking forward to hearing from them when the dust has settled...
How could they refuse you anything?
