I think I'm going to end up like that 348 pound woman who wouldn't have fit into the MRI machine. Barb just left some homemade peanut butter chocolate chip cookies on our doorstep. Mmmmmmmmm....
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Ooooh, what comfort food! How sweet of Barb. Spoke to several friends today -- one who had a lumpectomy and used to work in the mammography dept. (Jane Thompson, in case Eric's reading this), also Miriam, Jeff and Diana all of whom have gone to your blog and send their fervent healing vibes to you. You may hear from a close friend of Diana's (Laurie) or her niece (Kari) who has been where you are now several years ago at about your age. Thank you for keeping us posted, Sweetie, and savor Barb's expressions of comfort. I'd love to be there with you indulging.
Love,
sandy :-)
What lovely comments from people - you have the support of so many friends that love you. Add our positive thoughts which we'll send right across the Atlantic. You're really brave in the upbeat way you are dealing with this. The tests and procedures sound quite uncomfortable but it will all be worth it in the end for your own peace of mind. Thank god you caught this early. Hope to see you and Eric in the UK really soon as we miss you.
